The Loire Valley designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site, provides for a huge variety of interests.Whether you want to walk, play sport, vist vineyards, see the fairytale chateaux, eat gourmet food or shop in the markets there is truly something for everyone in this beautiful region.

The house is well situated to allow you to benefit from a wide range of actitvites all within easy driving reach ....here's just a small sample of whats on offer.

The Chateaux of the Loire

Visit Chenonceau or see it from a boat trip down the Cher. The little chateau of Montpoupon with its hunting museum is a few minutes drive or see the chateau at Loches with its dungeons,Villandray and its magnificent gardens, Cheverney with packs of hunting dogs, Azay- le- Rideau or Usse, which inspired the tale of Sleeping Beauty. Most chateaux offer son et lumiere shows at nighfall in the summer months.


Sport

Activites range from walks in the forest of Loches to tennis, boating and horseriding. Or cycle along the 250km cycle trails. A hot air balloon trip provides a wonderful aerial view of this beautiful region.


The Vineyards

Take a lazy drive along the many well sign-posted Routes de Vignoble and visit the vineyards where you can taste and buy from the internationally known whites of Pouilly-Fume or Sancerre to the easy drinking reds of Borgeuil and Chinon.
